| These sessions use Shiatsu as the main modality to access the nervous system, correcting muscular imbalances and improving organ function. Neural Resonance Therapy is woven within the treatment to interact even more deeply with the nervous system, jumpstarting the body's natural healing abilities. | ||||||||||
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork that encourages the re-establishment and maintenance of a healthy physical condition through non-invasive, hands-on therapy. Gentle but direct pressure is applied to the body with fingers, palms and thumbs while the client lies either on a traditional floor mat, or on a massage table. Unlike Swedish massage, no oils are used and treatment is typically given over loose, comfortable clothing. Shiatsu eases the nervous system into a state of deep relaxation, and clients often fall asleep during the hour-long session. How does it work? Pain or discomfort is the result of tensions that accumulate in the body due to demanding lifestyles, environmental stressors, structural misalignment and strains. For a healthy condition to exist, the vital nutrients of blood, oxygen and nerve conduction must all flow freely. Muscle tension restricts this flow, undermining the body's ability to function at its best. When a problem exists, anti-inflammatories and painkillers can ease the discomfort of a condition, but they often do not address the underlying cause which is frequently deep muscle tension. |
